We Urge You To:

  • Keep up-to-date on antivirus software.
  • Protect your computer with up-to-date firewall protection.
  • Do not use a search engine to find our web site. Doing so may misdirect you and put you at risk.
  • Frequently change your password.
  • Never respond to unsolicited emails.
  • Don’t follow links to the bank web site if they are sent in email messages. Always type in the address yourself.
  • Call Laona State Bank immediately if you are suspicious of any contacts or if you think your information has been compromised.
  • Check your statements every month and accounts on line frequently to ensure that all transactions are legitimate.
  • Beware when buying or selling merchandise over the internet and of cashiers checks, particularly if they are made for more than the purchase price.
  • Ensure that you are at a secure site before giving any personal information. Secure sites begin with https:// instead of http:// and have a locked padlock in the lower right hand corner of the browser window.

If Your Personal Information Has Been Compromised:

  • Contact us immediately.
  • Close your account and open a new one.
  • Review your account for unauthorized transactions.
  • Report identity theft to the three major credit reporting bureaus. Request a fraud alert and statement be added to your file. Also, obtain and review a free copy of your credit report and review the information for fraudulent activity. Have the fraudulent activity and related information removed.
